Though we travel the world over to find the beautiful, we must carry it with us or we find it not. – Ralph Waldo Emerson
Using makeup as my medium and the skin as my canvas, I create art that reflects a model’s natural beauty. Textures, the skin, and color all play a part in creating my interpretation. For over 10 years I have been creating a combination of contemporary and classic hair and makeup styles on my clients. My creations are largely influenced by my European heritage and my love of the art world. My work represents in essence the beauty that I have found on my extensive travels and in the streets that surround me everyday. The variety of techniques that I can apply to any model make each experience unique. From weddings, and formal events to editorial looks for photography I guarantee that the client will be satisfied with both my professionalism and your finished look.
Clients can experience my work in-salon, as well as at weddings, photo shoots, dance productions, and fashions shows. My work has been featured in local and national magazines and newspapers. Educated at Vidal Sassoon and Redken International my formal education has empowered my work enabling me to successfully compete in both city wide and national styling competitions such as the renowned Canadian Contessa competition.
My career has led me down many exciting paths. I have cut the tresses of Canadian music artists from illScarlett to Paul Brandt, including hair styling for the members of illScarlett for the 2008 Juno Awards presentation. My makeup artistry has expanded from makeup for bridal parties to airbrushing and body painting compositions. My feature body painting exhibit ‘Naked’ was featured in Fashion Magazine November 2006 Issue. This installment of work led me to work with the Calgary Fringe Festival both teaching body painting workshops and creating bodypaintings for the summer festivals.
Most recently my work has taken a turn to the more intimate setting of boudoir photography. Doing hair and makeup for Miss Behave Boudoir Photography has really proven that makeup and hair can help bring out the inner goddess that lies within each woman and is just waiting to be revealed. The women that I meet at each session leave feeling empowered and sexy, something that many women have forgotten. This has become my new passion. I have met women from all walks of life and in all states of fitness and health. From athletes to women facing breast cancer. Each of these women has touched my life and in turn I hope that by using makeup and hair to bring out their inner beauty I have given them a feeling of inner strength that they may look back upon during good or bad times and remind them that they are the beauty that lies within.
